Dessert Dash Description - 2024 Annual Auction
We are excited to organize the third annual Dessert Dash for our 2024 spring auction - it is a successful, sweet and fun auction tradition!
Before the auction, the Dessert Dash Coordinator will work with the auction coordinator to procure fancy desserts to be brought to the event on the day of the auction. There should be one dessert per table plus an extra just in case something gets dropped on the way to the venue. The desserts are displayed on a table in the dining room for all the guests to admire and decide which one they wish to win for their table. The desserts will have descriptive cards with the baker’s name next to each one on the table.
During dinner the auctioneer will encourage each table to make bids on the Dessert Dash Bid card that has been left on the table. The guests at each table decide how much they will bid to be the first one to run to the table to choose their preferred dessert. The higher the bids the better chance you will get the dessert you want.
The bid cards are collected during dinner so that auction staff can add up the totals for each table and enter the bids into the auction system for checkout. The auctioneer will then pause between Live Auction items for the actual dashing part of the Dessert Dash. With buildup, the auctioneer will announce the table numbers in order of highest bids and each table will have designated a runner to dash for dessert.
Guidelines for Desserts:
- The dessert should serve 8 people
- Please avoid desserts or accessories that require refrigeration as this is desserts sit on the table starting at 5 pm

- Chocolate based desserts are very common so feel free to explore other flavors
- Desserts should be beautiful and look professional as the idea is to encourage strong bidding as people admire the desserts
