Dear Spring Street Community,
Cherry blossoms, forsythia, and daffodils are in full bloom, and just a few days ago I was wishing I had shorts and flip-flops. It must mean that Spring is here at Spring Street! Spring is when all of us get very busy: midterms, parent-student-teacher conferences, AP exams, and a 3-week Mayterm full of independent projects and expeditions are all just around the corner – as is our Spring Auction Scholarship Dinner Fundraiser.
I invite you all to join us on Saturday, May 11th from 5-9pm at the San Juan Island Yacht Club for our annual spring auction scholarship dinner.
I invite you to come to enjoy the food, wine, and waterview. I invite you to hear from current students what your support means to them. I invite you to enjoy connecting because we don’t do enough of that these days. And, I invite you to come because your support of our scholarship funds touches so many lives in so many ways. Your support makes dreams come true. Your support helps kids find their voices on the stage, explore their creativity in the art studio, and put words to their thoughts in creative writing. Your support nurtures budding mathematicians, scientists, writers, and educators. It does take a village to raise kids to be thoughtful and to be kind, to take risks while pushing their intellectual and physical edge, to take care of themselves and others.
Our alumni are now out in the world as teachers, engineers, researchers, and writers. Our alumni are fighting to protect orcas, are fighting to help refugees, and are fighting for peace. Every donation to our scholarship fundraiser helps support our students to walk in the steps our alumni have carved out, and to make new paths of their own.
As a father, I do everything I can to help support my two kids. Nothing is more precious for us parents than our children's safety, happiness, and well-being. Our scholarship fundraiser helps us extend that love and support further, to include all of our current and future students who need a hand – so that their dreams can come true too.
On May 11th, we will gather over beautiful food and wine with friends, parents, alumni, board members, and teachers to celebrate and raise scholarship funds so that any student who needs a Spring Street education has the opportunity for one.
All proceeds of the annual auction go to our scholarship fund, which supports Spring Street families with tuition. Each year over $500,000 in tuition assistance is provided for local families, and close to 40% of families at Spring Street count on this support.
Below you will find a list of ways you can participate in this year’s fundraiser.
My deepest thanks for your wonderful support of our community and school. I hope to see you at the auction!
