2023 Fund-A-Need #1: Goal $7,500
Ode To The Chair: “there is a chair, for me, for all of us, a chair not only to relieve a fatigued body but for everything and everyone, for strength lost and contemplation found.” -Pablo Neruda
The time has come to replace our well-loved chairs - they are tired and ready for retirement. Quality chairs are a simple yet fundamental and necessary component of creating a conducive learning environment for our students. Our chairs, quite frankly, have seen better days. For many years, they have provided a solid foundation for students to work from. They have given our students the space to collaborate, create, and bring focused attention to their learning. However, now is the time to update our outdated, overused and well loved chairs. This year’s Fund-A-Need will raise the necessary funds to purchase enough chairs for all classrooms. Learning is at its best when you have somewhere comfortable to sit. It is the everyday items that get the most use and often get overlooked. Help us purchase new and updated chairs for happy backs, bums, and brains.
Fund-A-Need #2: Goal $50,000
Tuition Assistance:
Every child is unique and deserves a unique school experience. This is what Spring Street provides. Each year, we set aside over $400,000 in tuition assistance to local families who cannot afford the full cost of a Spring Street education. As an independent, nonprofit school, 80% of our income, which predominantly comes from tuition, goes towards salaries, health insurance, and retirement for our faculty. The remaining 20% primarily goes towards rent, mortgage, and classroom supplies. Given how much of our moneygoes to supporting our basic operating costs, we need fundraising events like this one to sustain our tuition assistance needs. You won’t get a Kenmore Air flight voucher or a catered dinner for raising your paddle. But you will get the joy of knowing your donation helps make a Spring Street education possible.
